Bubble Wrap Stomp Painting

There have been spells of cold and rainy weather here lately, so we seize every opportunity to get outside! This time we made some art! This activity provides more sensory input and gross motor activity than traditional painting. It’s also messier than traditional painting, but the rain took care of that for us later that evening.

Step 1

Roll out a long strip of paper and tape it down.

Step 2

Wrap bubble wrap around your kiddos’ feet and secure it with masking tape. At first, I brushed paint onto their feet and then let them run onto the paper.

Step 3

Later, I poured the paint onto the edge of the paper and let them step into it and then go crazy.

Step 4

They did go off the paper.

Step 5

They did get paint all over their hands and clothes.

Step 6

It’s washable, take a deep breath and let it be.

Step 7

They expanded the activity a bit.

Step 8

And they expanded the activity a little more....

Step 9

The art turned out pretty cool and everyone went to sleep without asking for 14 glasses of water, extra kisses, and another round of “Little Bunny Foofoo.”
