Chocolate-Dipped Kiwi Slices

This week we are bringing you 7 simple treats for lunchboxes to inspire you as the new school year begins. Your kiddos can help out with making all of them, and then they’ll be excited about their lunches! These combine fruit with a bit of chocolate and helped my daughter decide she might like kiwi after all.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chocolate chips or chunks
  • 2 ripe kiwis
  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil
  • Sprinkles - Smile Link
  • Picks - Smile Link

Purchasing with Amazon Smile enables The AmazonSmile Foundation to donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to a charity of your choice.

Step 1

Peel and slice the kiwis. You can allow your child to do this with a butter knife if the kiwis are very ripe and work on fine motor skills! Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring at the end of each interval. This chocolate took one minute to melt completely.

Step 2

Dip each and lay flat on wax paper. Add sprinkles if you desire. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set chocolate (not needed in winter, but it was 100 degrees the day I did this)

Step 3

You don’t need these little picks, but the kids love them and they made this treat even more fun! You can find them here.
