Fall Speech Activities: Learning with Fall Leaves

• Sorting skills

• Quality concepts (color, size, shape)

• Counting

• Letter and number recognition

Ingredients

  • Construction Paper-You can precut if that is easier
  • Writing utensil
  • String

Step 1

First, go through and review the colors of each leaf.

Step 2

Count how many leaves there are in the pile total, if you want to work on counting and handwriting, have you child write numbers on each leaf- in order, of course.

Step 3

You can then sort them by size and/or color.

Step 4

Once you are all finished with the activities you wanted to try out, you can take the leaves and make them into a garland to hang in the house as a décor or make a tree with the leaves and markers to draw a tree trunk. Get creative!
