Fourth of July Ice Chalk
- 1/3 c baking soda
- 1/3 c cornstarch
- 1/3 c water
- a healthy squeeze of paint (we used watercolor paints from another project) or food coloring
- White vinegar
- Squeeze bottles
- Ice cube trays

Prepare your bowls!
Mix the ingredients for each color paint in a separate bowl.
Pour into ice cube trays and freeze.
When everything is frozen, pop the cubes out.
It helps to wet down the concrete before starting to draw with the chalk, it melts better.
After drawing for a while, you’ll want to make the ice chalk paint erupt. I gave the kids squeeze bottles filled with white vinegar and let them squeeze onto the melting ice chalk paint.
When you’re done playing, you could give the kids the water hose to spray off all the chalk...and maybe spray themselves of too. Have a Happy Fourth of July!!
