Thanksgiving Craft: Felt Leaf Barrettes

My daughter loves to help. She loves to unfold the laundry while I’m folding it, whisk so vigorously that half the flour flies out of the bowl, and make anything. She loves barrettes, so this was a win-win mother-daughter craft. We used things we had on hand and I allowed her to practice cutting, so if you do these on your own and make a trip to the craft store you can get a more professional-looking product. My daughter has already asked to make some for the piñata for her birthday party so her friends can have some barrettes too!

Ingredients

  • Glue gun and glue sticks for the glue gun
  • Felt (I had some felt circles and squares left over, but the sheets work just as well)
  • Buttons
  • Barrettes/bobby pins
  • Scissors (We used fabric scissors)
